Louis is a Louisville, Kentucky native, a former Judge of Jefferson Circuit Court, Family Division Four, and a leading family law attorney in Kentucky. Having graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1983 and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 1986, Louis is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and a member of the Louisville Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Louis practices family law in Jefferson County and throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and has appeared before Circuit Courts and Family Courts throughout the Commonwealth, as well as before the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court.

He is married to Mary Barrazotto, an attorney with Brown-Forman Corporation, and they are the proud parents of two children, Mark and Kate Waterman.
